Candice Carter

MCSP HPCP
Senior Physiotherapist MSK
Candice graduated as a Physiotherapist from Brunel University in 2010 and holds a Postgraduate certificate in Advanced physiotherapy and a BSc in Sports Sciences. She started her career in private practice where she gained experience in sports injury management and whiplash related disorders. Since 2012 she has further specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy within the NHS where she works as a clinical lead physiotherapist. Candice manages a large team and is responsible for the learning and development of the department. Here she treats a varied caseload, from patients with rheumatological problems to post-operative rehabilitation such ACL reconstructions, joint replacements and chronic pain.
Candice uses a variety of treatment approaches, combining her excellent hands on skills with expert advice and individualised exercise programs. She is also trained in the use of acupuncture. Candice has specialist interests in treating spinal pain, chronic pain and anything tendon related!
Candice is passionate about exercise and empowers people to lead active lifestyles. She is also a firm believer that ‘knowledge is power' and is brilliant at helping patients to fully understand their injury/ condition so that they can either optimise self management or reduce the risk of re-injury. This approach stems largely from her career as an elite gymnast where she picked up several chronic injuries leading to retirement at the age of 16, moving her onto coaching. This also means that Candice fully appreciates the frustration that pain and injury brings, whether you are a high level athlete or a recreational gym goer.
Candice has 2 young children and currently enjoys home workouts consisting of weight training, calistenics, yoga and Pilates.
You can find Candice at Rectory Meadow Surgery on a Monday evening and Audley Chalfont Dene on a Saturday morning.
All our Physios are Chartered and State Registered each with over 10+ years of experience in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and rehabilitation both in the NHS and Private sector.
